On the information page, it says "You will find your answers in the secrets of strangers." This becomes very apparent after reading some of the secrets. Transformers 3 in Chicago

This summer I’ve been going downtown to see some of the Transformers 3 shooting. Shia Lebeouf is my most dreamy celeb! Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to charm him but we did get to see a few sets as well as Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson!

Chicago is the best city to me. I haven’t been to New York, but I’m born and raised a Chicago kid and I’m not sure if any other city will ever measure up! Chicago has so many opportunities and is such a beautiful city. I did however really enjoy my trip to Los Angeles; I could definitely see myself doing an internship out there and get involved with the fashion industry.

Fall Fashions

I find that the way great designers become famous to be so interesting. They always have a great story and their means of inspiration are fascinating. What usually seems to be so fantastic about it is that it usually comes from the most ordinary thoughts and feelings towards things we are surrounded by. Prada, always finds a way to project a silent humor; while in Cali, Donald of Barney’s told us about her spring 2010 line and how she found her light for it. She had just been in Miami for a period of time where she seemed to be bombarded with everything bright and flashy. She hated it. So that means she based her line over the entire concept of what she found to be so obnoxious. I love that she uses prints and concepts that are honestly meant for a comical expression of society. In the end, it turns into beautiful art that sells out every time!

Prada - Spring 2010 RTW

What we are expecting from her Fall 2010 line is a visit down memory lane of her most classic pieces. She wants to “revise” them. The garments themselves take comical focus on the breasts; as Style.com puts it “The clothes themselves were a deliberate, and quietly humorous, compliment to the womanly”. The line is absolutely beautiful and elegant. She uses a lot of boxed silhouettes but somehow worked them into becoming feminine. She uses mostly shades of black and white but added a little spice of color here and there.

Prada Fall 2010 RTW

From what goes back to my last blog about Prada, Style.com also commented in regards to Prada’s fall 2010 RWT line: “In fashion, appreciating the exceptional is always more interesting”. That’s what draws styles apart from one another, the focus of over the top expression to very little – both are very strong.

Now on a more personal note, this week has been about getting back to the basics! I work at White House Black Market and we’re preparing for our Fall Trunk Show next week! So many Beautiful new pieces! I’m going crazy, because I have no money to buy! But inspiration behind our Fall 2010 line is from vintage Europe, could it get any more adorable? I think not! I have to find some cold hard cash ASAP!

I have this hunch that purple is going to be the color to wear this fall. I am an avid user of Polyvore, which is a site that lets its users create their own mood boards. It is a fantastic idea! I'm obssessed with it! Here is my latest mood board that I made today; it's all about purple!

Life is at a turning point for me right now; I'm heading into my last two years of college and stuck not knowing exactly what I want to do with my life! I know I belong in the fashion industry, no matter where or with what - whoever I meet that shares my passion, are my kind of people. I have a great eye for piecing gems together (fashion gems, that is). I just have always felt as though the concept of merchandising, no matter the context, I just understand it well. So, that's a little about what I'm up to, here's something for the eyes.

Before summer really started, I took a trip to Los Angeles to see the flavor of the California fashion industry. I have to admit it was an amazing experience! I had to do a project following the trip, which I chose to focus on what made my passion for merchandising even stronger: our tour of Barney's Beverly Hills with Donald Ahsu. He was the most inspiring person i've ever met, not including the ridiculously spot on information about the history of fashion. What you might not know is that Barney's Beverly Hills wins numerous awards for having some of the most creative visual displays. I loved to hear about how he gets inspired and seeing how he takes ordinary objects and abstract ideas and turns it into complete art.

This is My project. I chose to use the influences from what stores and boutiques on Rodeo Drive to create my own store. It's a little vintage shop that started off of the idea that fashion is an overlapping cycle. So I took the everlasting bodice of a womans figure and used patterns, pearls, and accented crystals as pieces of fashion that seem to stay constant. Then I took a fruit dripping into the figures hand as a new piece of fashion drips into our real life fashion culture(hence the saying "catch what's ripe").
